Top Things I Am Thankful for Courtesy of My Online Career

It has been two solid years since I have started working online full time at home. Prior to that I was working full time for a construction company where I also happen to have a full time work online at night. It was difficult, especially when it comes to managing my time. However, I really wanted to pursue a home-based career so having two jobs at the same time became possible for me.
Life is not perfect but in the past two years of working full-time online, I can say that there are a lot of things that I am thankful for compared to the things that I regret (not much really) and the things that I would want to change.
One of my top things that motivates me to blog and to pursue a career online is my kids. I get to spend every day with them and sleep with them unlike before when I had to rent out a place closer to work. And since my husband is working overseas, I am practically available every time he calls from work to chat with me and the kids. If I had a full-time job in an office, it may be quite difficult to be able to spend quality time with my husband and my two kids.
So, what are the top things that I am thankful for courtesy of my online career? Here are as follows.
More quality time with my family
I have two kids, 4 and 2 and they are in a stage in their life where they are building the foundation of their character and personality. Being an online freelancer allows me to be with them every day. I get to teach them to write and read during my down time and they are always around every time I need to recharge and to get motivated back with the things that I do. I get to spend more time with them compared before and my kids are so into me which I love. This is the top most reason why I freelance.
Online freelancing is a very rewarding career
I earn a descent income in the company where I work before, but working freelance offers more. It depends on how hard working you are and how smart you are when it comes to working. When I say smart, it means that you make the most out of every hour you spend for a client or a project. Blogging can also be a business. I get my daily dose of inspiration from other freelancers that shares their success stories online, another thing that keeps me going as an online freelancer. At present, I earn twice from what I used to earned in the company I work for.
Learning opportunities are tremendous when you work online. You have control over your time so you can find a few hours to spend on improving your talents or learning a new skill. Although some companies offer seminars and career enhancing courses to their employees, working online offers more and most of them are also free.
I have my life back
I get to decide freely on the things that I need to do and want to do. Working in an office setting requires you to be present whenever your boss or superior needs you, even after office hours. Working online at home allows me to work whenever I feel like working. I can work on my own pace, my own place and get paid fairly for the hard work that I do.
I am really blessed for having the chance to work online, build a career for myself, be a good mother and contribute to our daily needs. Interested in working online as well? Check out how I transitioned from an employee to an online freelancer from this post.
