How to Connect Your Bank Account to PayPal

It is essential for an online freelancer to secure a system that will allow them to withdraw their earnings online. Some online working platforms like Upwork features a withdraw to bank action for their freelancers. Others opt to use other online earnings withdrawal methods like Payoneer and PayPal.

PayPal is one of the most common methods that you can use in receiving funds from offshore transactions and your withdrawal method as well in acquiring your online earnings.

Setting up a PayPal account is easy. You just need to have a valid e-mail address and then you’re good to go. Withdrawing your PayPal funds requires you to have a valid bank account.

This is a short guide (with pictures) on how you can connect your Philippine bank account to your PayPal account.

Step 1

Log in to your PayPal account. On the left side, click on the Add a Bank account or card option other the Bank and Cards Menu.

Step 2

Click on the Link a bank account icon.

Step 3

I have preciously connected bank accounts on my PayPal account so you will see three accounts already connected to my PayPal account. To add my third one, or your first one, click the Add button.

Step 4

Fill up the boxes with your bank details. Be sure that the name of the account that your fill-up is the same as the name of your bank account. Enter your Bank Name, Bank Account Number and your Bank Code. List of Bank Codes for Philippine Banks are enumerated below.

Step 5

Double check the details that you have submitted. Click the Edit button if you need to re-do some of the details or hit the Save button if you are done.

You will receive an email from PayPal that you have successfully linked a new bank account to your PayPal account. Unlike linking a Credit Card to your PayPal account, PayPal will not require you to have a fixed and refundable amount (Php.200.00) debited from your account to check that your Credit Account is indeed a verified account.

About Me

My photo

A graduate of Civil Engineering but a writer by heart was the main reason why I figured out that the corporate life was not for me. I enjoyed being at home, far from the competitive atmosphere of a typical 8-hour job. I hated the idea of extending work hours at the office or bringing work at home. I cringe about the idea of having to prioritize work over my family and living. Luckily, i managed to break free from the corporate world after seven grueling years. Although I must say that I have learned a lot both personally and professionally from my office job, I would never see myself turning back after being able to achieve my dream of being at home and working online. As I try to reach my first million while working online I also plan on entering a home-based business in between blogging and taking care of my kids.
